Government Data Requests For Facebook Accounts Increase

On Thursday, Facebook Inc said that the government requests for accounts were increased by 13% last six months of 2015. These requests are most frequent from India and the United States. The increase in the number of request was 18% in just first six months of the last year which, to be accurate, is 41,214 to 46,763.

The Government interference in the telephone lines and internet has been a topic of argument for quite a long time now. Often government agencies request social websites for the IP addresses, account content, and subscriber’s private information.

There are around 1.65 billion users of Facebook. Or it can be said that one in every five person uses Facebook. According to Facebook, nearly 60% of data requests had a non-discovery order forbidding Facebook from informing the users about data request. Facebook has incorporated the detail of non-discovery order for the first time since 2013.
